Port Ludlow Village Council Updates

by Geoff Lang, President

Your Village Council has been hard at work the past month! The Port Townsend Marine Science Center reached out looking for partners in their annual Earth Day Beach Clean-up on April 25, and we were happy to participate. Hopefully, you were there too!

We have partnered with PCs for People pcsforpeople.org to bring a drive-through electronic/tech waste recycling event to the Village on Friday, May 15, from 10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Village Center parking lot, formerly known as the recycling center. Details on acceptable items can be found on our website and via email announcements leading up to the event. PCs for People handles most of this event, but if you want to volunteer to help, reach out! Volunteer at PortLudlowVillageCouncil.org.

We are excited to bring you the 2nd Annual Community Yard Sale where you will find more than just your neighbors buying and selling household goods. We’ll have local nonprofit groups, local food vendors, local music, and a homemade baked goods sale. Catch the ‘local’ theme?

PLVC proudly supports our local vendors and organizations. We will, of course, have an

informational table for PLVC and, as always, will be looking for people to join us!

Event Calendar: We continue to scour local publications, social media, and websites to populate the Community Event calendar so that you are always informed, but we need your help! Send us your event information, volunteer your time to help us find local events that may be of interest to our community, and encourage the coordinators of the classes you attend to reach out to us! We also want to provide you with event information via our bi-weekly email, to include local seminars, classes, restaurant offerings, and community news. But if we don’t know about it, we can’t share it! Sign up for our emails at PortLudlowVillageCouncil.org.

The future of Port Ludlow: Do you wonder what Port Ludlow will look like in the ten years? Do you have a vision? Do you want to provide input for the future of Port Ludlow? We do too! We would like to start a community working group or a committee to start forming a vision for the future of the Village.

Finally, we are putting together roadside trash cleanup events for the primary roads in the

Village. We’ll start with Oak Bay Road, Paradise Bay Road, and Teal Lake Road but will

expand our reach as our volunteer pool allows. More information to follow via our website and email once we have completed the application process with the county.
