Field Arts & Events Hall in Port Angeles is the newest entertainment and events facility on the Olympic Peninsula. Field Hall hosts local, regional, national, and international music and performance artists inside the 500-seat Donna M. Morris Theater. Here’s the calendar of events for January and the beginning of February.
· Free Jazz Sunday with The Joel Ricci Trio – Sunday, January 4, 12 p.m.
Raw, working-class original jazz with Joel Ricci, Sal Michael (drums) and Kendall Melton (electric and stand-up bass). Free event.
· Dirty Dozen Brass Band in the Thomsen Club – Sunday, January 11, 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. The Grammy award-winning New Orleans-based Dirty Dozen Brass Band has taken the traditional foundation of brass band music and incorporated it into a blend of genres including Bebop Jazz, Funk and R&B/Soul. Tickets: $40 - $50, 2-item food and drink minimum.
· Open Mic Monday with Bread & Gravy – Monday, January 12, 6 p.m. Hosted by Stephanie and Jess Doenges (Bread & Gravy Duo), this is a free, all-ages open mic event open to performers of all kinds. Additional dates include January 26, February 9, February 23, March 9 and March 23. Free event.
· Frozen Sing-Along – Sunday, January 18, 4 p.m. Dress up and sing-along for this special screening of the magical musical adventure: Disney's Frozen! Pay-what-makes-you-happy event.
· I’m Not There – Friday, January 23, 7 p.m. The Academy Award nominated, highly unconventional biopic I'm Not There was written and directed by Todd Haynes and features powerful performances from Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, and Heath Ledger as Bob Dylan. Pay-what-makes-you-happy event.
· International Guitar Night – Tuesday, January 27, 6:30 p.m. International Guitar Night brings together four global virtuosos – Lucas Imbiriba, Stephanie Jones, Alexandr Misko, and Taimane – for an electrifying evening of genre-defying acoustic mastery. Tickets: $35 - $55 adult, $20 youth under 18.
· The Peking Acrobats – Thursday, January 29, 6:30 p.m. The Peking Acrobats bring to life a rich and ancient folk-art tradition, infused with the dazzling pageantry and spectacle of modern Chinese theatrical circus. Tickets: $40 - $65 adult, $25 youth under 18.
· Every Castle, Ranked - Friday, February 6, 7 p.m. A hilarious and tender solo show where Lindy West (NYT bestselling author of Shrill, and executive producer of the Hulu series of the same name) ranks castles, confronts childhood fantasies, and finds unexpected hope in toilets, butts, and the bittersweet truths of adulthood. Tickets $22 - $32 adult, $16 youth under 18.
· Jovino Santos Neto Quinteto - Saturday, February 7, 7 p.m. Expect an exhilarating journey through the rhythms and colors of Brazil, led by master pianist and composer Jovino Santos Neto. Tickets $15 - $35 adult, $12 youth under 18.
