Gallery-9 – Featured Artists

For August 2026, featured artists at Gallery-9 in Port Townsend are Ann Arscott with oil paintings and watercolors, and Roberto Ribiero with silver jewelry.

Ann Arscott, an Olympic Peninsula resident for 25 years, has traveled to 130 countries. Ann states, “I take thousands of photographs on my journeys that I use as jumping off places for my art.” There is a strong Asian influence to her style and subject matter, shaped by her time at the China Institute in New York. Her practice includes sumi-e painting, a tradition that strives to express the essence of forms.

Roberto Ribeiro learned the basics of silversmithing in 1993 in Brazil, where he was born and raised. He has created a zero waste process, buying recycled fine silver casting grain which he melts down into ingots, then rolls through a hand-cranked mill to make silver sheet or wire. Every element is handmade, and every leftover scrap is melted down again to become part of a new piece of jewelry. Roberto’s selections feature peridot, the birthstone of August and a symbol of compassion, renewal, and positive energy.
