It’s not easy starting a new food and artisan market, but the brand-new-this-year Friday Market, located by Port Ludlow’s small downtown, continues to thrive, bringing us local offerings of specialty foods, fresh produce, and artisan wares. As of this writing, regular food vendors at the market include weekly stands from Pane d'Amore Bakery and Zack’s Little Creperie (and if you haven’t sampled the offerings from these folks, you’re definitely missing out). In addition there are bi-weekly booths from Three Peas Farm and Gray Fox Farms, who bring everything from fresh produce and eggs to specialty items such as homemade jams.

In addition, the market boasts of visits from a long list of miscellaneous vendors including Laurie’s Flower Bouquets and Plants, Anne’s Stained Glass Art, and Susan Cole with vintage estate sale offerings. A host of other booths  showcase everything from enameled birds to intuitive healing, to  specialty jewelry and (would you believe?) whimsical  gnome heads. As if all that wasn’t enough, the market also hosts tables manned by the Port Ludlow Village Council plus Friends of EJFR.

According to market organizer Kandice Crusat, locals especially like to stop by these non-profits stations to chat, while many visitors to the area are drawn in by the signs posted around Port Ludlow each Friday. Says Crusat of the weekly markets, “All of our visitors are delighted to find such a fun selection of local food vendors, and arts and crafts.”

So take advantage of this local offering while you can. This year’s Friday Market will run  through September 25, with its regular hours of 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
