Quimper Arts Presents the Painted from Life Exhibition

Bayside Art Gallery is pleased to welcome Quimper Arts for their upcoming group exhibition, Painted From Life. The show will run from May 10 through June 30, showcasing a diverse collection of artworks created through the practice of working directly from life.

Quimper Arts is an artist-run collective based in Port Townsend that promotes the practice of drawing and painting from life. By hosting regular sessions and community events, the group provides a supportive environment for artists of all levels to hone their craft and share their passion for traditional artistic methods.

The Painted From Life exhibition highlights the vitality and raw energy that comes from the traditional practice of working from life. Whether capturing the subtle nuances of landscape or the intricate details of a still-life, the artists of Quimper Arts emphasize the unique connection between the observer and the observed. This exhibition brings together a wide range of styles and mediums — including charcoal, pastel and watercolor — reflecting the individual voices within the collective.

Quimper Arts has long served as a vital hub for local artists, providing space for life drawing sessions, workshops and collaborative growth. The Painted From Life exhibit serves as a testament to the collective&#39’s commitment to the fundamental skills of representational art and its role in fostering a creative community in the Port Townsend area.

All artworks in the exhibition are available for sale, with all proceeds going to Bayside Housing & services to benefit people experiencing homelessness and poverty in Jefferson County.
