In the club’s last Voice article, I talked about the club’s Women’s Group and its activities. We’ve visited Wilderbee Farms & Meadery in Port Townsend for a terrific, educational, and tasty afternoon. If you haven’t been there, put it on your “absolutely must do” list! The group then spent a wonderful day with Puget Sound Express whale watching with a stop in Friday Harbor for lunch.

The group’s activities are often open to others as was the whale watching excursion. We saw puffins, orcas, a humpback, Steller sea lions, California sea lions, and our gang of local harbor seals all vying for space on the rocks. We highly recommend this day tour to see our natural environment, and the wildlife with whom we share it.

PLYC is a very active club hosting twice-weekly evenings with appetizers, potlucks, catered dinners, member-chef evenings, and more. Our boaters will be heading to the South Sound, cruising for ten days after their rendezvous in Poulsbo. Land cruisers are always invited to join cruises when possible.

Our upcoming events at the club: Seahawks Kickoff Party, Tiki Night, Wiffle Ball & BBQ with the Port Townsend YC, Sizzle & Sliced Steak Night, Burgers and Dogs, and a special paella feast prepared by members.

When the weather’s fine, we enjoy these events on the club’s deck overlooking the marina, inn, and Olympics. We’re a fun group who loves welcoming new members, boaters or not. For more information, visit plyc.us.
