With our spring show already on the books, we’ve started to plan our fall show. This
year, we’re performing Almost, Maine on October 9 - 18. Almost, Maine is a popular
play by John Cariani. The play is a collection of nine short plays that explore love, loss,
and connection in the mythical remote town of Almost, Maine that’s so far north it’s
almost not in the United States.
Set on a single winter night under the Northern Lights, the interconnected stories feature
magical realism as residents experience love in unexpected ways with bruised knees,
broken hearts, and mended relationships. The play is known for its heartwarming and
heartbreaking moments and has become a frequently produced play on the community
theater circuit.
As a community theater, we want to have fun and showcase the talents of the residents in our community. Auditions are Wednesday and Thursday, May 13 – 14, 5 p.m. at the Bay Club located at 120 Spinnaker Lane, Port Ludlow. There are parts for nine males and nine females, ranging in age from mid-20s to mid-80s. Rehearsals for each short scene of the play will be coordinated to accommodate the actors’ busy schedules.
Not interested in being on stage? Producing a play involves a lot more than just the
actors. We welcome everyone to experience the magic of producing a show. If you like to
paint, we always need set designers. If you like to sew, fashioning costumes is essential
to the actor’s portrayal of their character. Thrifters are great at finding those special props
that are difficult to find. Folks that excel at organizing and coordinating make great stage
and production managers.
