Bayside Art Gallery is proud to celebrate Pacific Northwest artist Britt Greenland in her upcoming solo exhibition, Shimmering Light, running from May 10 to June 30. This immersive exhibition features a collection of 10 new oil paintings that explore the transient beauty of light across the rugged landscapes of the Cascades, the Puget Sound and beyond.
Britt Greenland is an award-winning artist based in the Pacific Northwest. Originally from rural Minnesota, she has spent over two decades capturing the scenery of Washington State and her international travels by bicycle. A former gallery owner and passionate mentor to emerging artists, Greenland’s work has been featured in numerous juried shows and is held in private collections across the globe.
Known as an Adventure Painter, Greenland is a signature member of the Puget Sound Group of NW Artists and a dedicated plein air painter. Her work is defined by an impressionistic side of realism, utilizing bold brushstrokes and a sophisticated mastery of warm and cool color contrasts. Shimmering Light focuses on those fleeting moments, such as the alpenglow on a mountain peak or the dancing reflections on the water that define the atmospheric character of the Northwest. Greenland says, “My hope is that each painting helps you to feel you are basking in the sun.”
All artworks in the exhibition are available for sale, with all proceeds going to Bayside Housing & Services to benefit people experiencing homelessness and poverty in Jefferson County.
The Bayside Art Gallery is located at 310 Hadlock Bay Road, Port Hadlock. For more information about the exhibition, high-resolution images, or to schedule an interview with the artist, please contact Christopher Forrest at cforrest@baysidehousing.org or call 206-465-2193.
