The Connectivity/No Kings Conflict

Saturday March 28th presents our community with a choice! How will YOU choose to be involved? At Fort Worden, the annual Connectivity Fair/ now called the Connectivity Summit, will take place over the weekend of March 28th-29th. Indivisible will have a presence at the Connectivity Summit on Saturday, from 10-1, joining local non-profits at the networking portion of that event. Meanwhile, Port Townsend’s local Indivisible chapter of the nationwide network will host one of well over 1000 rallies across the US, all happening on March 28th. Initiating along Sims Way, and terminating with a rally at the Pope Marine Park in front of City Hall, the rally is designed to support the needs and value of a governing democracy.
In recognizing the apparent conflict of the Saturday March 28th date for both the long planned Connectivity Summit and the very recently announced Nationwide No Kings Day 3 events, our community will need to make a choice on which to attend when afternoon elements of each both happen simultaneously. Not to worry though! Both efforts support the same intention, when looking through a wide angle lens!
The Connectivity Summit brings together 130 of our local non-profit organizations for networking efforts, with the intention of making our community stronger, and more resilient, especially in such uncertain, challenging times. Meanwhile, Indivisible is standing up to our federal government's authoritarian overreach that is undermining the basic Rule of Law that has fundamentally defined our democracy since its birth 250 years ago.
Both initiatives are working to preserve and strengthen what we value at the community level: our real caring for each other, our responsibility for cooperating through collaboration, as we galvanize support for meeting basic human needs and respecting the civil rights we all revere.
