Port Townsend Chamber Music Series Benefits Chimacum High School Cowboy Marching Band

The Port Townsend Chamber Music Series is performing a benefit concert for the Chimacum High School Cowboy Marching band on

at 2:00 p.m, at the Beach Club located at 121 Marina View Drive, Port Ludlow. The band was selected to represent Washington State at the nation's Independence Day parade in Washington, D.C. on July 4, 2026.
The concert will feature works by Brahms, Beethoven, Berg, Herringman, Hure, Choo, Martini, and Massenet. Featured artists include Michael Carroll, Sung-Ling Hsu, and Lisa Lanza on piano, Marina Rosenquist on violin, Barbara McColgan Pastore on harp, and Guy Smith on lute. Howard Gilbert and George Shaffer are on percussion, Anne Burns on viola, and Pamela Roberts on cello. No tickets or reservations are required. There will be a short reception after the concert.
Robert Nathan, president of the Port Townsend Symphony Orchestra board stated, “Our symphony orchestra’s chamber series team is excited to kick off this fundraising effort to support the Chimacum High School band. We’re proud they were chosen to represent Washington State for this important 250th national birthday celebration. This trip will be a wonderful music and teamwork experience for them.”
The band's Booster Club must raise approximately $100,000 to cover the band’s travel expenses. Donations will be gratefully accepted at the concert.
