Niners' Putt and Pour Tournament

The Niners’ Putt and Pour Putting Contest was well attended. Captain John Bockoven reported that Assistant PLGC pro, Tristan Heath, set up a multi-hole putting course on the practice putting green. Contestants went around the nine-hole putting course three times. The obstacles on each hole made it difficult to get a clear shot. Members relaxed with snacks and beverages at tables and chairs surrounding the course. Former Niners’ Captain Barbara Burke stepped in to assist because Niners’ Social Chairperson, Diane Germain was not available. The winner of the men’s division was David Aho, and the winner of the women’s division was Sharon Russell. Sharon actually had five holes-in-one on the course.

Regular games played in August included Blind Holes and Individual Low Net. Niners also participated in the Dove House Tournament on August 21.

The August Niners’ Couples’ event on August 28 was a “Step Away Scramble.” The September Couples’ event will be a “Shamble” on September 24. The fourth Captain’s Cup date was held on August 20. Scores for the four dates will be compiled to determine the male and female Captain’s Cup winners. The winners will be announced at the end of the season banquet. The season’s eclectic winners, and the most improved players awards, will also be announced at that time.

Captain John Bockoven welcomes new prospective Niners to play with the league on Thursday mornings. To play, please contact the PLGC Pro Shop. PLGC Membership is no longer a requisite for league participation.
