Port Ludlow Fly Fishers

If you live in Port Ludlow and have ever wanted to try fly fishing or have fly fished in the past, you’re in a good place for two reasons: (1) the variety of fine fly fishing opportunities near Port Ludlow for trout, bass, bluegills, salmon, and more; and (2) the excellent source for instruction and companionship right here – the Port Ludlow Fly Fishers.

Formed in 1995, the Port Ludlow Fly Fishers club meets weekly on Tuesdays (except during December…too many holiday distractions going on then). Members either gather in the craft room at the Bay Club to help one another tie flies and make plans for coming events or instead, and if the weather allows, members meet at a local river, lake or beach to fish together.

The club developed years ago near Teal Lake as an accessible fishing park, which included a newly built parking lot and an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant trail to the dock they installed. Their continuing stewardship includes planting trout in the lake every year.

The Port Ludlow Fly Fishers club makes an annual trip to rich trout lakes east of the Cascades and hosts an annual Casting Clinic at the Port Ludlow Marina pond. There’s even a holiday party in December that includes dinner, door prizes, and a raffle.

To connect with this cordial and welcoming group of fly fishers, send an email to portludlowflyfishersclub@gmail.com.
