Port Ludlow Art League – Featured Jeweler

Mara Mauch works with fused glass to create one-of-a-kind cabochons that become stunning necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. Her lifelong love of science makes working with fused glass constantly exciting because it combines the scientific properties of glass with imagination. She is able to create unique, colorful, and wearable art. When Mara combines different colors of glass with dichroic metal on glass and applies heat over time, the results can be either beautifully predictable or delightfully unexpected.
Mara states, “I love creating jewelry at the intersection of science and art.
For me the biggest joy is learning, experimenting, and getting lost in the process of creation. The final result always captures my imagination and sparks new ideas. I hope people get as much happiness from my pieces as I get making them.”
During November and December, Mara’s jewelry will be on display at the Port Ludlow Art League Gallery, Sound Community Bank, and online at portludlowart.org.
The public is invited to attend a reception for Mara on Wednesday, November 11, 4 – 6 p.m. at the Port Ludlow Art League Gallery located at the corner of Oak Bay Road and Osprey Ridge Drive in Port Ludlow. For more information, email info@portludlowart.org or visit portludlowart.org.
