The Port Ludlow Women’s Golf Association (PLWGA) is an 18-hole women’s league led by Captain Linda Aho. PLWGA Co-Captains are Beth Weaver and Diane Germain; Secretary, Kathy Traci; and Treasurer, Linda Haskin. Opening Day will be April 7. Invitations have been emailed to all active and social members. Members need to sign up for nine holes of golf and the Opening Day Luncheon, planned by Turney Oswald and Linda Bloemeke. Linda Haskin and Diana Smeland, coordinators of the 2026 handbook, will distribute the handbook on Opening Day.
During the season, the Golf Shop collects the Tuesday score cards, enters members’ scores into Golf Genius, and then deposits the winnings into the winning players’ Port Ludlow Golf Club (PLGC) account. The Golf Genius scheduling program will be used again for all PLWGA event sign-ups. This computer program calculates individual golf statistics for members, including eclectic scores for the season.
Captain Linda Aho has scheduled several fun tournaments throughout the 2026 season.
The first tournament of the season is the Spring Fling, scheduled for May 18 – 19. The Captain’s Cup, which will be team match play this year, is scheduled for June 8, 10, 12, and 16 (June 16 is an alternate date in case of rain). The Ladies Invitational, which includes players throughout Washington State, is scheduled for June 30 and the Club Championship is scheduled for August 24, 26, and28. In addition, a Gals Getaway is being planned by Lucinda Thompson and Kathi Williams for September 1 – 4 and several Play Day Away dates and destinations are being planned throughout the season by Elaine Girard.
PLWGA Casual Play continued on Tuesdays and Thursdays from November 2024 through March 2025. A big thank you to former League Captain, Linda Haskin, for utilizing Golf Genius to organize Casual Play for the past five months. Member news will be posted on the PLWGA bulletin board in the PLGC women’s locker room and distributed via e-mail.
Prospective PLWGA members may contact the PLGC Golf Shop for information about the league and they are invited to join the group on Tuesday Play Days. Note: PLGC membership is not required for participation in the PLWGA.
