The Niners have enjoyed playing together every Thursday morning and many non-PLGC members have joined the Niners’ ranks. All PL Niners and other league members were invited to attend the July 16 Putt and Pour Niners’ event that featured a difficult putting contest set up by Tristan Heath, PL Assistant Golf Pro, and greenside drinks with appetizers. Winners of the Putting contest will be announced in the September Voice. August’s Niners’ Thursday games include Blind Holes, Individual Low Net, and Captain’s Cup #4. Members sign up for Thursday games on Golf Genius.

Niners’ Couples Chairs, Carole and Doug Fett, organize games for the fourth Thursday of each month. The July 30 Couple’s Scramble was well attended. Thursday, August 28 is the date of the next Couples golf event. The scramble game is Step Away. Players are encouraged to stay for a luncheon at the Sand Trap Café after play.

Help is needed to prepare for the Dove House Tournament to be held Friday, August 21. If any Niner or community member would like to volunteer, please contact the Pro Shop at 360-437-0272.

Another Captain’s Cup play day took place on July 23, the third of four competitions where scores are tallied for the season’s Niners’ Captain’s Cup. Winners of all regular Thursday Niners’ games are announced via email, and winnings accumulate in members’ accounts for the purchase of PL Golf Course Pro Shop items.

The Niners welcomes new league members and non-league golfers. Niner’s Captain John Bockoven invites prospective Niners to play on Thursday mornings.
