Pilates for Travel™, a movement program created specifically for active retirees and travelers, announces the launch of its new Pilates for Travel class—designed to help adults move more comfortably, confidently, and safely while enjoying the trips they love.
Unlike traditional fitness classes, Pilates for Travel focuses on the real physical demands of travel, including long walking days, stairs, uneven surfaces, extended sitting, and handling luggage.
“Our goal isn’t to train people to become athletes,” says Wendy Woodside, founder of Pilates for Travel. “It’s to help travelers feel capable in their bodies – so they can enjoy their trips without worrying about pain, fatigue, or losing confidence in how they move.”
The Pilates for Travel class is built around outcomes that matter most to today’s active retiree traveler.
Participants can expect to experience:
Greater comfort while walking, standing, and sightseeing
Improved balance and stability for stairs, curbs, and uneven terrain
Increased stamina for full travel days and longer excursions
More confidence in balance, coordination, and everyday movement
Reduced fear of injury, flare-ups, and travel-related setbacks
The class uses gentle, low-impact Pilates-based movement to support joint health, posture, mobility, and functional strength – helping participants stay active and independent while traveling.
Pilates for Travel is designed for beginners and experienced movers alike and is especially beneficial for adults who want to continue exploring the world without pushing through pain or relying on high-impact workouts.
“This class is for people who want to keep saying yes to travel,” Woodside adds. “It’s about protecting freedom, confidence, and enjoyment as we move through the world.”
In-Person classes are held in Port Ludlow and Bellevue, Washington. Online Classes are available on Patreon at patreon.com/cw/PilatesforTravel.
