Martha’s Book Group - The Dictionary of Lost Words

The Dictionary of Lost Words, Pip Williams’ 2020 debut historical novel from Australia, is the Martha’s Book Group selection for February. Join us on Tuesday, February 10, at 4 p.m. at the Bay Club to discuss lexicographers, the Scriptorium, and the power of words in shaping history before electronic media and AI altered personal responsibility for what one would write.

This book is one of many contemporary novels available to book groups through book club kits. These kits, containing ten copies of the book, may be borrowed from the Jefferson County Library for up to two months. MBG uses these kits as part of the selection process in deciding which books to discuss.

MBG meets monthly on the second Tuesday of each month at 4 p.m. at the Bay Club. For further information, or to find out how to get a copy of the current book, contact Sarah Schuch through bookclub@plvoice.org.
