Martha’s Book Group begins another season of book discussions after our summer hiatus. Rather than an epic novel, our group has selected two non-fiction books with an emphasis on how nature can provide us with different perspectives on coping with the vicissitudes of life. Robin Wall Kimmerer, of Braiding Sweetgrass fame, returns with a shorter treatise in her book The Serviceberry. She is joined by Margaret Renkl’s The Comfort of Crows which is her year-long journey into how life in her backyard provides her with inspiration. Join us on Tuesday, August 11 at 3:30 p.m. at the Bay Club as we delve into thinking about how nature can heal and inspire.
Martha’s Book Group meets monthly on the second Tuesday of each month. All are welcome to attend. If there are books you’ve found interesting and would like to discuss them with others, join us. For more information contact Sarah Schuch atbookclub@plvoice.org. September’s book group selection will be Bewilderment by Richard Powers.
