Jefferson County Street Safety Action Plan

Jefferson County has received grant funding through the federal Safe Streets for All (SS4A) grant program to develop a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan, designed to reduce fatal and serious injury crashes to zero on roads and streets throughout Jefferson County.

The County’s Safety Action Plan will involve studying crash patterns, identifying safety risks, engaging the public and developing a prioritized list of safety improvement projects and strategies. The public had opportunities to participate in the development of this plan through a Safety Survey.

The County will host public outreach events at the Chimacum Farmers Market on Sunday, July 26 and Sunday, September 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Members of the public are welcome to stop by and learn about Safety Concern Survey findings and plans to address them. Project team staff will be present to answer questions.

An outline of the Comprehensive Safety Action Plan, including progress to date, will be presented to the County Board of Commissioners at a workshop on Monday, October 26.
