Friends of the Jefferson County Library will have an extensive array of reading material and entertainment media for sale at the summer book sale, to be held Saturday, August 15, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the library, 620 Cedar Ave. in Port Hadlock. Bring a box or sack to collect all your treasures.
Hundreds of books across all genres will be available for purchase, with most hardback books priced at $1, DVD movies at $1 per disc, and pocket paperbacks and children’s books costing only 50 cents. There will also be a selection of music CDs ($1 per disc) and audio books on CD ($2 per title). All proceeds from the sale go directly to the Jefferson County Library to support programs and services that are beyond the scope of its annual budget.
Members of Friends of the Jefferson County Library are allowed into the sale at 9:30 a.m., a half-hour before the public. The cost of membership is just $10 per person, which can easily pay for itself in those first 30 minutes of shopping. New members can join at the book sale or in advance at www.friendsjcl.org (click on “Join Us.”). Membership and book sale purchases can be made by cash, check, or credit card.
Beginning at 2 p.m., Friends will conduct a bag sale. Bring a shopping bag or box. Fill it to the brim with books and take home the whole lot for $5.
Friends also maintains a used-book shop inside the library that is accessible during regular business hours. Books are available for 50 cents to just a few dollars. Many award-winning books, puzzles, children’s and young adult titles are available every day. The supply is replenished daily, so make multiple trips!
