The “Rhody Family Reunion,” a community picnic highlighted by the Party Ark

On Saturday, May 16, the Rhody Parade will conclude with a celebration at Memorial Field. The last entry in the parade, the Production Alliance’s Flatbed Cadillac, will lead gatherers from uptown Port Townsend to the grounds at Memorial Field where marching bands, field games, BYO picnics, and the Party Ark will greet the revelers.
The Party Ark, a 16-foot cedar boat built by local youth through the Community Works Project, will be filled with contributions for a massive gift giving celebration. The entire community has been invited to help fill this beautiful boat with handmade gifts and pledged experiences – everything from beeswax candles and carved wooden bowls to sailing trips, home-cooked meals, massages, and cords of firewood. All skill levels, all inspirations, all creative contributions are welcome.
This event is a project of the Production Alliance, a non-profit event production and community building organization centered on the Olympic Peninsula. More about the event and ways you can contribute may be found at Rhody FamilyReunion.
