In a rather bizarre twist of fate, the ancient Egyptians and their mummified pets may have the last word, so to speak. Learn more about the fascinating connection your cats have to the culture of Ancient Egypt!
Are the molecules of cat mummies embedded in our morning cereal? What strategies might help me find my missing pet? These and many more questions are addressed in Elyse Cregar’s new book, Mews and Views for the Curious Cat Lover.
Elyse will be offering excerpts from her (mostly!) adult non-fiction paperback book on Saturday, April 11, from 4 – 6 p.m., including a Q&A session at the Beach Club Gallery room. Guests will be treated to an unusual flight of imagination with her story Movie Night 30,000 Years Ago.
For those interested in self-publishing, Elyse will welcome her audience with a very short rundown of the easy and not-so-easy steps to take for writers in almost any genre.
Cregar’s new book contains short articles about our domestic cats, with a few bites from lions thrown in. She is intrigued by the adaptive strategies that enable cats to function effectively as predators, prey, and companions to humans. Cregar hopes her book will provide recent findings on many unusual topics and answer often puzzling questions. A book to keep handy as it may prove beneficial to cats as well as to cat lovers.
Born in Chicago, Elyse Cregar has served as a career public school Library Media-Specialist in Hanover, Pennsylvania; Swampscott, Massachusetts; and Moscow, Idaho.
