Arts Council Presents Performing Arts in Port Ludlow

2011-2012 Season at the Bay Club

Saturday, September 24 – Quartet Il Voce puts a fresh face on the classical crossover genre at the Bay Club. Doors open at 7 p.m.; performance at 8 p.m.

Thursday, November 10 – Grace and refinement of movement is displayed by Cashore Marionettes as they redefine the art of puppetry. Performance begins at 8 p.m.

Sunday, December 4 – The Good Lovelies deliver textbook three part harmony with witty on stage banter. Performance starts at 4 p.m.

Friday, January 20 – Violinist, Valeri Glava, with versatile Lee Tomboulian presents a musical journey – an incredible smorgasboard of flavorful music from classical to bluegrass. Performance at 8 p.m.

Friday, February 17 – Recreating the close harmonies of the Ink Spots and the Pied Pipers, The Perfect Gentlemen perform both a cappella and with guitar or ukulele accompaniment. Performance at 8 p.m.

The Fireside, 5:00 p.mPre-Concert Supper by Chef Dan is a three-course dinner at $21 featuring Yukon Gold potato and leek soup, Berkshire pork loin pan seared with sage jus, roasted fingerlings, Haricot vert in a creamy bacon vinaigrette, topped off with a dessert of chocolate decadence with raspberry coulis. Bay Club, 8:00 p.m.,( doors open at 7:00 p.m.) Voted “Best A Cappella Vocal Group” in the U.S. in the 2002 National Harmony Sweepstakes, The Perfect Gentlemen shift between vocal styles with ease, whether singing a cappella or accompanied by guitar or ukulele in Salute to the 20th Century, a humorous take on the de-evolution of music over the last century, Bay Club, 8:00 p.m. with doors open at 7:00 p.m. for seating, wine bar and display of Jeanne Joseph’s hand-painted floor cloths, acrylics and colored pencil drawings, 437-2208, www.portludlowartscouncil.com.

Marina Room, The Fireside, 10:00 p.m. Village Sounders, spouses, friends and neighbors invited to a no-host dessert and beverage “afterglow” and “sing-along” with the Perfect Gentlemen following the Bay Club concert.

Sunday, March 10 -  Buzz Brass will take you on a witty and spirited journey through the music of Western civilization. The brass quintet performance begins at 8 p.m.

Saturday, April 14 – The Bills are back for the season finale. This Western Canadian Music Award winning quintet performs exuberant vocal arrangements inspired by tunes from around the globe at 8 p.m.

Tickets for Port Ludlow Arts Council performances are available through subscription for the entire season, by discounted six-seat Flex Pass and through purchase of individual tickets. This season ticket prices are $140 for all seven concerts (a $28 savings), $132 for Flex Pass or $24 for individual tickets. Individual tickets are purchased at the Bay Club or in advance at www.portludlowartscouncil.com.

FEB. 29: 10:00 at PLAL Art Gallery ~ March/April Exhibit will be installed, pay $10 Advertising Fee and sign up to sit a day (both months) in the Art Gallery.
